You wouldn't wear safety goggles you couldn't see through.
Why would you use ear protection you couldn't hear through?

That was analogy behind this fun campaign for dB Blockers, one of the world's leading hearing conservation products.

Unlike the client's past efforts, this campaign was simple, direct and engaging. Gone was all the technical copy and specifications they typically used to describe their product. Instead, I focused my attention on the single most important benefit dB Blockers provide: Communication. A custom-fitted earpiece blocks harmful levels of noise safely, but still enables workers to talk to each other while wearing them. A desirable feature in busy factories and noisy construction sites where clear communication not only improves productivity, it saves lives.

Humorous print ads, posters and direct mail targeted attendees at various health and safety tradeshows which represented the bulk of their annual industrial orders. Easily reproduced in two colour, the campaign was an immediate hit. A special direct mail postcard was used to drive additional traffic to their booth by inviting attendees to fill out the missing letters correctly to claim a free gift.

In addition to the campaign creative, I also developed their "Hear what you've been missing" tagline that has been adopted by the company as part of their new overall branding strategy.
