The Story

Demystifying the stigma of mental illness.

We’re all fighting battles others know nothing about. That’s why RYU created One More Rep for Mental Health to raise awareness of the issues, open lines of communication, and demystify the stigma of mental illness in order to make mental health care a reality around the world.

Symbolized by the iconic image of a kettlebell swing, a challenge to complete “one more rep” was issued and incentivized though a series of prizes that could be won.

Kettlebell Rep stations that included video documentation were set up in every RYU store. People could also take the challenge at home or their gym provided they posted a video on social using the campaign tags. The total number of reps completed were updated each morning on RYU.com to drive awareness, demonstrate transparency, and encourage more participation.

The campaign was an unprecedented success exceeding all expectations. In just 30 days, the campaign was directly responsible for:

-      271,056 recorded kettlebell reps which was 171,056 more than the goal.
-      Instagram followers grew by 250%.
-      Website traffic increased by 27.76% over the month previous.
-      Unique visitors to ryu.com increased by 19.6% during the same time.
-      RYU.com experienced more than a 26% increase in page views.
-      Record breaking revenues from online apparel sales in November were the highest single month total in RYU history.
-       One More Rep was a campaign finalist in the World Retail Awards.
